What qualifications do I need?
Passing grades in Units 201 & 202 of 2330 Lv2. Students also need to show at least 85% attendance & punctuality for the 1st Yr. Please note due to funding changes this qualification is funded for 16-18 year olds but for 19+ adults this is a full cost recovery programme so no funding or fee remission is available.
What will I learn?
Students will receive tuition on:
Basic Principles, Health & Safety and Regulations & Technology wrt Buildings and Structures.
Basic Report Writing
Basic Installations and Testing.
All our courses are designed to cover the full range of topics and tasks as laid down by the awarding body in response to industry requirements. All practical activities are carried out within out start of the art workshops with theory work being a mix of classroom and assignment activities. The topics include:
Science of electrical engineering and provides an in depth knowledge of the wiring regulations (BS7671:June 2001).
The science topics cover electromagnetism and electric motors, alternators and other devices.
Illumination and types of lighting, AC theory, Cable sizing and Testing.
Regulations are thoroughly investigated and circuit parameters are produced from IEE tables.

A combination of theory and practical assessment.
How will I be assessed?
In this year students will need to complete 2 theory tests (203/Principles & HS & 205/ Regulations & Technology). They will also write 2 reports (testing & measurement and Installation) and be assessed on a practical installation.
What could I do next?
Successful completion will allow progression onto C&G 2330 Level 3. It is essential that students attempting Level 3 are either employed by an Electrical Contractor or working with one, for practical evaluation purposes (NVQ3).
