What will I learn?
This course is ideal if you are interested in a career in the motorcyle maintenance and repair industry.
It is a practical-based course, but you will also learn that all-important theory. As well additional support with literacy and numeracy, the course covers:
Working Safely and Effectively
Foundation Skills of Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair
Motorcycle Construction and Routine Maintenance
Operating Principles of Motorcycle Tyres, Brakes, Steering and Suspension systems.
Operating Principles of Motorcycle Engines
Operating Principles and Maintenance of Motorcycle Transmission Operating Principles and Maintenance of Motorcycle Electrical and Electronic Systems
How will I be taught?
This course runs at Barking and Dagenham College- Rush Green
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is in form of on-line multiple-choice questions set externally by IMI Awards. The assessments will enable you to demonstrate your ability to perform practical tasks to industry standards and simulated workshop activities.
What could I do next?
A career in the motorcycle service trade. Progression to the course IMI Awards – Diploma in Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair – Level 3 motorcycle service and repair technicians. Progression to the IMI Level 2 Apprenticeship.
