What qualifications do I need?
Near completing City & Guilds 2330 Lv3 Electrical Installation Theory, or achieved C&G 236 PtII. Alternatively experienced electricians with a good working knowledge of previous editions of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
C&G directive – Qualified Electricians will need to comply with 17th Edition from July 2008.
What will I learn?
All our courses are designed to cover the full range of topics and tasks as laid down by the awarding body in response to industry requirements. All practical activities are carried out within out start of the art workshops with theory work being a mix of classroom and assignment activities. The topics include:
1 Scope, object and fundamental principles for safety
2 Definitions
3 Assessment of General Characteristics
4 Protection for safety
5 Selection and Erection of equipment
6 Special Installations
7 Inspection and Testing
8 Use of Appendices
How will I be taught?
Formal guided learning and tutorials,
Each course is designed to finish the week prior to the City & Guilds examination.
How will I be assessed?
There is only one exam – it is a multiple choice test which is set and marked by City & Guilds.
You will also need a personal copy of your own wiring regulations book.
What could I do next?
Successful candidates with a relevant technical certificate may wish to progress onto the City and Guilds 2392 Fundamentals of Inspection and Test Lv2 , City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Test Lv3 and NVQ Level 3 Installing Electrotechnical Systems.
