What qualifications do I need?
Students must have secured employment in the motor trade, and be released from work by their employers. APR (Accredited Prior Learning) may be used on students with sufficient knowledge and experience for assessment in the workplace
What will I learn?
The course is modular and both theory and practice of each module is taught. The modules taught cover a wide range of tasks normally encountered in a typical workshop:
G1 Contribute to Workplace Good Housekeeping
G2 Ensure Your Own Actions Reduce Risks to Health & Safety
G3 Maintain Positive Working Relationships
If not already achieved at Level 2.

MR07LV Remove and Replace Engine Units and Components
MR08LV Remove and Replace Vehicle Chasis Units
and Components
AE06LV Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Electrical Units and
Components
How will I be taught?
Study methods include formal classroom sessions and assignments, in addition to the workshop periods where practical skills of fault diagnosis and unit replacement are developed.
How will I be assessed?
All units are examined by on-line assessemnt in the form of multiple-choice questions and in order to assess the students ability to perform practical tasks to industry standards; simulated workshop activities of fault diagnosis and repair are arranged.
What could I do next?
Supervisory or management programmes
This qualification is also accepted by VOSA as a suitable entry qualification for MOT tester acreditation.
